For traveling to Lucknow the Delhi Airport is the nearest one (about 500 Km from Lucknow). After arriving to New Delhi delegates can travel to Lucknow by Domestic Airlines or by Train. All participants are requested to fill online travel information for better assistance at Lucknow.
Travel by Air
There is a shuttle Bus service from International Arrival Terminal to Domestic Departure Terminal (free of cost). Delegates are requested to inquire themselves and transport themselves.
The Domestic Airline will take about one hour from Delhi-Lucknow. Every domestic Airline has its own independent flight schedules having no link up arrangement with International Flights. It is advisable to book Domestic Flight well in advance through their websites or travel agents in your country looking into your arrival time in New Delhi by International Flights. Among the options for domestic airlines in India are Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Jet Lite, GoAir, Kingfisher Airlines, Indigo. Delegates arriving by air at the Lucknow Airport (Amausi) will be received and transferred to their place of accommodation by the conference organization.
Travel by Train
Lucknow is also accessible by train from all parts of India. For train Schedule and Reservation please go to www.irctc.co.in. While booking ticket online kindly ensure that the correct name of Delhi Railway station is "New Delhi (NDLS)" and Lucknow Railway Station is "Lucknow (LJN)" as there are many train stations in both the cities. Train will take about ten hours from Delhi-Lucknow. Participants are advised to reserve and purchase train ticket at least 15 days before the date of travel as trains are heavily booked in India. However, few tickets are available under "Tatkal" scheme (meaning thereby immediately required) on extra payment. Such "Talkal" booking is open only 2 days before the date of travel (http://www.irctc.co.in/tatkal.html).
Caution: Website of Indian Railway may not accept online reservation from the foreign credit / debit cards.
New Delhi Railway Station is about 25 Km. from Delhi Airport. For traveling up to New Delhi Railway Station delegates are advised to have Pre-Paid Taxi Service available at International Arrival Terminal at Delhi Airport. It will take about 90 minutes by Taxi. You have to take special care of your belongings as New Delhi is very crowded. Delegates arriving by Train at the Lucknow Railway Station will be received and transferred to their place of accommodation by the conference organization.
