University of Lucknow is pleased to organize the International Conference & Humboldt Kolleg on ‘Frontiers of Environmental & Health Sciences Useful to Mankind: A Multidisciplinary Approach’ during 24-27 February, 2010. The subject is extremely topical and important for survival of life on our Globe. It brings in its ambit many upcoming disciplines such as nanoscience and genetic engineering. I am sure that this meeting of eminent scientists under the auspices of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), Germany will not only excite and educate the established researchers about latest developments but greatly stimulate the young and enthusiastic junior researchers. Developments in the field of health sciences are of great importance and this conference of Humboldt Fellows will provide an opportunity for exchange of ideas and development of newer techniques.

The AvH Foundation encourages and supports high quality research in all fields of human knowledge may it be science, arts, law, music etc., whichever may advance the cause of excellence and human well being. I trust students and teachers of Lucknow University of all disciplines will benefit considerably from this promising conference.

I am sure that the deliberations and the recommendations emerging from this conference would be most useful and educative and will open a new era in the field of health and environmental science.
